Getting back to Firestorm Armada...

Finally getting back to one of my favorite game... Firestorm Armada. With 6 Main factions, 6 Minor factions, and then 6 "Grey Area" factions and pretty well balanced game play, its a fun, yet challenging beer and pretzels game:)

Had a great game with my buddy playing Aquans last night in a Border Clash.

Only got to turn three before we had to pack up an leave, (We started playing around 8pm), but it was a helluva fight. The Sharnak Cruisers debuted strikingly, putting 5 hull points on one of his Carrier in one round after coming in from reserve! The Dred also acquitted itself well, completely obliterating a Heavy Cruiser in one horrific salvo of death, though it took much punishment in return from the remaining cruisers and the rest of the fleet.

Overall the inclusion of the Sharnaks was a good choice, their firepower is obscene! Range band 2- 14 AD Fore Scatter, 14 AD P/S Beams, and 14 AD FORE Torps  (This is including pack hunters MAR). Just Brutal, and exactly what this fleet needs.

My Battleline (My two Sharnak squadrons are in Reserve).

Going into turn Three and how we ended it. (My first Sharnak squadron is off on the right Flank out of frame. Came in an decimated his Carrier and was prepping for a sweep).

Conclusions:
I took out 2 heavy Cruisers, and a frigate or two, and lost 3 frigates and my Dred took 5 points of damage.  However, i also had 5 points of damage on his Carrier, 3 Point to his BB, and the rest of my ships were in perfect HP. If we had played it out, i would probably have Cloaked the Dred, and hope my opponent keeps firing at it to try and bring it down. That way my HC's and may Sharnaks can do the dirty work of beating on everything withing range. i dont think the Carrier and the BB would have been around much longer!

Some more pics. (Not great ones mind you!)

Back in the saddle again!

So its been a VERY long while since my last post but i figured i'd try and pick it up again!

Salute 2015
I attended Salute 2015 this year in England while on vacation/business with my GF/now Fiance'. My personal friends and clients run 4Ground, a premium maker of terrain and wargaming accessories who have quickly made a name for themselves in the industry for the superb qulaity of their products. They were out in style and their spread was impressive, (Not least because they were displaying some of the artwork i have been doing for them on their products:) The theme this year was Agincourt, though games of ever denomination were being played. It was a wonderful time, and much too much to see for only a single day. I urge you to go at least one time in your life!

Here are some pictures from the show!

Future In Conflict
So after traipsing through London, the West country and Bath, and experiencing one of the finest miniature conventions ever put on, I am excited to get back into the hobby! I have been working on my own Ruleset Future in Conflict, and it has been evolving, though i haven't had much time for playtesting due to my work schedule. It will be out some day, here is a cover I painted up for it.

Current Work
So I can finally announce that I am doing the encounter maps for the second batch of books for Wizards DnD 5th Edition campaign "Out of the Abyss". The adventure was designed by Green Ronin instead of Kobold Press this tme, though the experience has been quite similiar to when i did the Hoard of the Dragon Queen and Rise of Tiamat maps. Aside from that i have about 7 other projects i'm currently working on, including a project for the game MYTH, which will be a large worlds map. BUSY BUSY BUSY.

If you are interested, I have laos opened an online shop which has a bunch of my works available as prints or digital downloads at www.theredepic.bigcartel.com.
